refer,
If you really can't get the hang of using the keyboard to play, you might look into getting a gamepad. I mainly use a Logitech cordless Rumblepad 2 for combat. You can map 28 keys to it (really only about 25 or 26 are usable), which lets you put all skills, movement and targeting on it. I had never used a gamepad before (I don't have a console) but quickly found it easy to use and much faster than using the keyboard and mouse. Plus almost no "hitting the wrong key" as is often the case when I use the keyboard. It is more comfortable to use too, my hands will sometimes cramp up when I use the keyboard to play for long periods, which isn't a problem with the gamepad. I do use the keyboard for non-combat, moving around explorable areas and towns, etc. Also if I have a high level character helping out a lower level as I'm only using a few skills before everything is dead, so one hand for movement keys and the other for skills works just fine. Only downside is the thing eats batteries like crazy, so a corded version is probably the way to go. That or get rechargeable batteries. |
